The old maestro has not played the guitar for five years.

Once people had said he was the finest musician they ever heard, unique in the way he captured the raw heart of old Deep Song, the ancestor of flamenco. Nobody could wail the forgotten cries of the outcasts like he did, they had once said; nobody. But that was in better times. Few speak about him now.

Meanwhile, in the city cafes across Andaluc a, old Deep Song is dying. Soon it will be lost forever to new styles of music they call flamenco. And the ailing maestro can do nothing to help.

Then, one night in a remote hillside bar, the old maestro hears something. The great healer from his childhood has returned to his birth hills near the sea.

Can the old maestro find the healer while he still has time, so that he can complete his life's work, and help with the fight to save Deep Song? And what part does his strange wife Isabel have in the long story of Deep Song?
