The Siren's Lament

By tabatha pope

It has been over two thousand years since Atlantis sunk beneath the sea. The descendants of the Atlanteans still live far beneath the sea. Transformed into Sirens they live by preying upon mortal men, sailors who travel over the seas. One young princess on her sixteenth birthday she will venture above the sea to take her place among her people by feeding on and killing a human. Instead, she will choose compassion and spare his life. She will seek a way out for herself and her people so that the curse and the hunger that comes with it may end and so no more human lives will be taken. Drawn to her human after having drank some of his blood she will seek him out. And so, begins a most forbidden love between two that were never meant to be together. And it will be this love that will either save her or condemn her soul for all time.
