You will forever be altered for the better.

The Sinfulness of Sin is a book that expounds upon the core root of man and is default of lawlessness. One cannot comprehend how much Christ did for them unless they understand what sin really is and how it is in the fabric of their being. This book makes you realize the real cost Christ made on the Cross for the whole world. And how he conquered this for those who call him their Lord and Savior. As I continued reading this book, I found myself daily recognizing sin that is at the door of my heart waiting for me to yield, and at times, I did because it is in my nature to sin. And it is demonstrated by Venning all through this book. Most importantly, I have deeply come to recognize with humility and gratitude, how much God truly loves us. To send his only begotten Son to be Sin for us. So that our sins can be forgiven because of what he had done on the Cross; to conquer Sin once and for all. The scripture below has taken on a whole new meaning and depth for me. In reading this book, I will forever be altered for the better. “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭) This book should be in every Christian believer's library.

How to stifle the self-righteous notion that 'I'm a good person.'

It's difficult to find a Christian publication now-a-days that even mentions the word sin... Throughout Christian history this would be deemed abnormal. I am sure the Holy Spirit is far more irritated than I. But, picking up this ole' Puritan Paperback, has filled in the gaping necessity in my personal discipleship on "The Sinfulness of Sin." When you are evangelizing, and you mention the reality of hell, do you get questions like, 'I'm a good person, and I'm going to hell? What a mean and unjust God to send me there!' Well, if you have only received teachings from many present day churches, you'll have no response to a person like this because it's currently taboo not to talk on the heinousness crimes against God's holy government: sin. Pick up this book, as a paint and black dye, to help color iniquities blackened backdrop on a good creation, and the holy stars of God's glorious grace will clearly shine through. "If you speak little of our wickedness, then you have little to say about the glory of the Cross of Christ." --Paul Washer "He who thinks lightly of sin thinks lightly of the Saviour." --Charles Spurgeon

Very Humbling Read

This book will humble anyone who reads it. From start to finish, Venning opens up the dark caverns of the human heart, and reveals how truly sinful and rebellious we are to our Creator. Venning not only shows how man can blatantly and openly sin, but exhaustively describes the hidden things of the heart that cause sin, namely, our selfish attitudes. The author brings the book to a close by directing the reader to the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is our Righteousness, our Savior, and Redeemer. A must read for a young believer who desires to live a holy life in Jesus Christ.
