Excellent Book on Health, Diet, & Recipes for the Kitchen!!!!!!!

Too bad Mrs. Chris Rucker hasn't published many more books like this to the mainstream public. A lot of her books and health workshops are published by smaller companies. However, if you can find them, they are great and a must have also with this book. In this book, she basically tells you about the diet of the healthiest people on the planet, worldwide of Seventh-Day Adventists. It's no secret! And she gives you a to-the-point overview of health, diet, and fabulously deliciously healthy cooking recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for real wellness. This book is easily 5 stars!

For anyone seeking a new eating lifestyle, buy this book!

Though this book is written in large part by a Seventh Day Adventist, there is nothing about this book that promotes anything but a healthier lifestyle. I bought this book when it first was published, and it was an answer to a longtime desire to find a book that addressed pure eating- whole grains, raw vegetables, fruit-sweeteners- not just low-fat or low-sugar eating. The chapters are not only informative, but the recipes are easy and so tasty. This book was a great introduction to the world of the health food store, with even a glossary in the back defining various foods foreign to the average supermarket shopper, and the names and addresses of common health food brands. I highly recommend this resource for those ready to take the plunge into new eating habits.

This is a plan I can stick with for ever.

In 4 months I have lost 75 lbs. I still have a hundred to go, but have no doubt that I will get there. The simple weight loss plan put it all together for me. I know that by the time another 8 or 9 months go by I will never be fat again.

Recipes are healthy, pure, and taste fabulous

The "Seventh-Day Diet" is full of delicious recipes made from raw, pure ingredients that are wholesome and satisfying. I really loved it and after substituting many of the recipes for those I usually eat, my body really felt the difference--I felt purified and more energetic. This is comparable to Jane Brody's "Good Food Book," yet is more convenient since it is filled with a more condensed selection of recipes that take less time to make. A stand-out is Pimiento-Cashew Cheese, which contains no dairy, is creamy and smooth, and really is not an attempt to imitate cheese. It is tangy and flavorful, and tastes great on everything from noodles to chicken, and is a great dip for crackers. Another hit are the Pecan Oatburgers, which I find to taste better than hamburgers, turkey burgers, or typical "veggie" or "garden" burgers. They are dense and flavored to perfection (and taste great with the Pimiento-Cashew Cheese!). The book also contains desserts, such as a peanut butter fudge made with carob. I have no complaints, and HIGHLY reccomend this book for everyone, even those who are not vegan or those who do not generally make a point of eating organic foods.
