Revolutionized MY Life

I was frustrated and depressed when I first picked up this book. I was jobless, flat broke, nearly homeless. "I can't do anything right. I should just quit. I should just kill myself." In fact, I was suicidal. With a little counselling and "The Self-Talk Solution" I was able to revolutionize my life. Dr. Helmstetter's book offers a practical method to change the patterns of your thinking: what you are saying to yourself, and to consciously take control of your mental thinking- and consequently your entire life. These are more than simple affirmations, or "postive thinking" - instead Dr. Helmstetter shows literally how to re-train your entire mental processes into powerful, enabling, patterns that you choose. What if you could re-program your thinking? In the five years since discovering this book I picked up my life, got a job I love, found a loving relationship, went back to University and travelled to five countries in Asia. But really, the best part is how I now think about myself, I never again have to deal with the depression and low-esteem that previously plagued my life. I hope you will enjoy this book.

THE SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEMS!

I first discovered Mr. Helmstetter's two books, "What To Say to Yourself", and "The Self-Talk Solution" about seven years ago. For as long as I can remember, I have had very low self-esteem, and never understood why or what to do about this problem, until I read "What To Say to Yourself" by Dr. Helmstetter.His books helped me to understand the "how" and "why" of my "low-self-esteem" problem, and what to do about it.I grew up in a negative environment -- mostly everyone I was close to, including my parents, had negative attitudes about life in general, and programmed (inadvertently) my self-conscious to the point where I naturally believed that I lacked the necessary skills and resources to be happy in life.His books gave me the tools I needed to "reprogram" my self-conscious and gradually become much more self-confident and more capable of achieving success in life.One of the changes I have used the self-talk scripts to bring about was "quiting smoking" after over thirty years of being addicted to cigarettes. I was totally amazed as to how easy it was to "just quit" out of sheer lack of desire to light up ever again. All that after just reading the "Stop Smoking" scripts to myself over about one week period. As a consequence, I have found the withdrawal symptoms to be very manageable, not a problem to my quest of remaining "smoke (and tobacco) free".While our youngest son was still in high school, he too found himself having very low self-esteem, as a result of peer pressure at school. I introduced these books to him, and provided him with his own copies -- by using the self-talk solution, he was able develope high self-esteem and at the age of 25 now successful and happy in virtually every facet of his life.I highly recommend these books to anyone who is suffering from low self-esteem, as well as those who are simply looking for ways to enhance thier lives.The techniques presented by Dr. Helmstetter in his books are a natural course of events that we all are subjected to while growing up, and these books show us how, using the same technique but with control this time, to change our own self-talk. I know this from my own experience of about forty years of life. What more can I say.

It's literally an encyclopedia of a positive self-talk!

This book changed they way I thought of myself.

Shad takes you through a series of mental exercises to begin new thought processes. These processes allow you to change your self-esteem, sleeping habits, punctuality, weight, whatever you feel needs improvement in your life. It really works.

Great follow-up

In his follow up to What To Say When You Talk To Yourself, Helmstetter gives you the scripts you need and shows you how to write them. Fantastic and it works!!!!!
