The Secrets of Belltown -a great beginning to the series...

If you like mysteries, the Belltown series is tops and this book will get you started in great fashion. It's fast, suspenseful and keeps your interest all the way... and if you like or live on Cape Cod where the story takes place, all the better. This book makes you laugh, shiver with anticipation, and delight in the exploits of Orville Jacques, the kid who has a natural knack at always being in the right (or wrong!) place, at the right (or wrong!) time.As far as the rest of the series goes, they're nostly focused around an important mystery that needs solving and contain a wide range of action to keep your interest: LOTS of MYSTERY, interesting but believable characters, just a smidgeon of romance (but not too much for the younger reader) with Orville's interest in the elusive Maria, positive teen/parent and peer relationships (his parents really care about him and his best friend falls for Maria!), valuable teen/adult relationships (Orville befriends a depressed elderly man and both really help each other out), cops, robbers, murders, 'believe-it-or-not' events (read BOOK 3!!!!) ... just a whole lot of good stuff crammed into a solid mystery!

The Belltown Mystery Series Rocks

T.M. Murphy's books are awesome! I hated to read until I read one of his books The Secrets Of Belltown for a book report. Now I have read all four and I heard from my teacher that he has a new publisher and is rereleasing the books. She also said he has another book coming out called The Secrets Of Code Z in May. I can't wait! If you're a kid you'll love the books. If you don't then you're just plain crazy!!

The Secrets of Belltown by Ted Murphy is great. Once you start reading it, it's very hard to stop, because it's such a gripping book. The characters are brillliant, and you feel like you've known them all for years. All the books in the series are excellent. If you loved the first one, just wait until you read the second. But if you've never read this book and fast-pace mystery with a twist is really you're thing, you should get your hands on The Secrets of Belltown immediately!

Hard to put down this book

This book was so interesting that it was hard to put down. It was the fastest moving book I have ever read. The suspense was superb. The characters had real feelings and made mistakes that they had to deal with. I would recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries as well as those who like Cape Cod.
