The Savannah Zombie is the first of three stories set around the notorious Bermuda Triangle. I walked through Savannah, America s most haunted city at night, through the squares with the hanging, tangled branches of trees reaching out from the parks. I knew of its strange reputation and things can happen. Its subtitle is My Night with Scarlett and I was, after all, in Gone with the Wind country. How true that turned out to be.....if, of course, anything is really true. Bermuda s Other Triangle asks how something that cannot be real can be the most real thing to have happened to you. In Bermuda I stayed in a cabin which looked out onto the mesmerising lagoon. From the first it was known as The Islands of Demons. I later discovered that the history of the place I had stayed could have explained all sorts of happenings. Of course history is full of impossible love stories but could there be one more impossible than this and therefore more heart-rending? Cuba: The Falcon and the Fortune-Teller arose from a balmy evening of the dazzling music for which the island is famous. Sitting with friends in the square by the majestic cathedral my eye was caught by a remarkable black woman in white dress and turban smoking a huge cigar. She was a santeras, a fortune-teller and a remarkable one. Was she foretelling my future or, strangely, my long-distant past
