Fast-paced, quick read, very enjoyable political fiction

This was my first Woods book and I enjoyed it immensely, read it in one sitting (it is a compelling story, and not very detailed prose). Characters were enjoyable, followable, and Woods does a good job of not painting in extremes (the way Grisham does) - even the assassin is likeable to a degree, and the political figures are colorful and human.

An Outstanding Book

When the book is over you know the characters. I disagree with other reviews: I believe the book is filled with little twists and turns that make it most enjoyable. I raced through it, cover to cover, and have several friends lined up to borrow the book. Thoroughly enjoyable. I too look forward to the next 'chapter' in the life of Lee.

I Loved "The Run"

I recently redisovered Stuart Woods and I'm very happy that I did. The Run is a first rate, suspense-filled novel which brings back one of my favorite characters -- Will Lee. It grabbed me from the first sentence and held me all the way to its exciting end. "The Run and The President's Astrologer by Barbara Shafferman are two of the best political suspense novels I've read in years."

Another Good One

Mr Woods delivers another good one. His writing style seems so effortless. Even all the attention to details does not slow it down. I finished the book in a day and a half. He never disappoints like some other authors who give us a good one and then fumble on the next. He just keeps them coming.

Woods for President!

I've been a Stuart Woods fan since NEW YORK DEAD and SANTA FE RULES. I believe THE RUN is his best effort yet. This story about an honorable man's run for the Presidency is dead to rights. Although Woods acknowledges help from a Deputy Press Secretary in Ted Kennedy's office, he must have had other sources within the beltway because he misses nothing.I didn't finish this book in one sitting because I wanted it to last. I hope we Woods' fans will have the opportunity to read more about William Henry Lee IV, his terrific wife, Kate, and his sharp-as-tacks parents. His presidency should be interesting. This is a winner. Enjoy!
