Excellent reference.

The book is a summary of the history of the Regiment of Royal Scots from its establishment in 1633 to its amalgamation with the other Scottish infantry regiments in the British Army in 2006. The books covers significant events in the development and history of the regiment, as well as, some notable battles and individuals. The book is well written and easy to read. The book is well edited with no noticable errors in it. The book does include photographs that represent periods in the regiment's history. The author has previously written other respected works of military history. Highly recommended to those readers with an interest in regimental histories. The reader will gain an appreciation for the regimental system used in British Commonwealth armies.
