Let go and Let God

This is a simple and yet powerful book that helps me unwind and settle in my heart. The fast paced global world I live in has a myriad of distractions, emails, voice messages, pending tasks, open projects and the like which makes it very appealing to pursue outside gratification rather than inside inspiration. A remarkable practical book that presents many easy to do practices that helps me reconnect with who I truly am. If you are stress out, with very little time and believe being spiritual requires a lot of time, this book will help you discover that aint so. Lovely, simple, powerful.

Spiritual Direction

Excellent book with sound spiritual advice. John-Roger gets the message across with wit and humor. The CD is great for commutes and IPOD.

The Rest of Your Life

Another fine book by John-Roger. In particular I am enjoying the CD that comes with it.

One moment at a time

I am reading this book one page a day - each chapter is about a page. I'm part way through it and find that reading one page gives me a focus for the day that assists me in slowing down, appreciating each moment while I go about my agenda. Throughout the book, there are "Resting Points" - each a tip in how to experience inner quiet for a moment during the day. I am finding that by taking several "moments" during the day to focus on the space between my in and out breath assists me greatly in coming into balance and is restorative to my energy. This is just one of the tips in the book. This book is helping me support myself in loving ways while I go about my day as an investment advisor.

The Best Of Your Life

While there are many excellent self-help, personal development, even spiritual books available that guide the reader to acquire more - money, love, success, happiness, I love the letting go approach in The Rest of Your Life. This book is different. I find the world a very exciting and stimulating place at the moment with an acceleration of technological developments, opportunities for advancement in many spheres of life, the expansion of the internet, growing global communications. We are deluged with possibility. We are living in an extraordinary age. And yet, the more I go out into the maelstrom of activity and pursuit, the emptier I seem to feel inside. And into that emptiness goes fear and doubt. Why? Because the energy that was driving me gets quickly depleted. Not what I was hoping for when I set out on my various quests. The Rest of Your Life restores my balance. But much more than that. It offers me a way forward in which I create and attract what I really want in the simplest of ways. I need to let go of what I no longer want, or what is no longer working for me and contributing to my well-being. These are mainly habits and attachments which have grown empty for me. Let them go because they are draining my energy. Take time frequently to breath deeply and relax. Entertain in a peaceful way that which I want to be enjoying more of. No pressure. All in perfect timing. When I fill up from the inside with those feelings and qualities I want, the amazing thing is that I want much less from the world. At the same time, what I do need seems to have a way of finding me. How brilliant is that? I have given myself this book as a gift this Christmas. I could not have chosen a better one. Drs John-Roger and Paul Kaye happen to be friends of mine, so maybe I am biassed. But I am usually more critical of my friends because I love to see them doing the best they can. What they are writing about is how I see them living their lives and their lives are inspiring to me. If you feel inclined to give yourself The Rest of Your Life, Finding Repose in the Beloved, I encourage you to do so. Christmas, New Year, birthday - any day. You may find yourself giving you the gift of your Life. And you may discover more about the extraordinary One that you are.
