About the Author: Dr. Syleecia Thompson grew up in Harvey, Illinois, into a musical family. Her father is Syl Johnson, a blues and soul singer, and her sister is Syleena Johnson, an R&B singer and talk show host. Dr. Thompson is a breast cancer survivor, educator, entrepreneur, entertainment manager and executive producer. As a full-time professor in business, entrepreneurship, and strategy, she has taught more than 8,000 students, and coached and managed over 160 clients. She has worked with major networks, record labels, and corporations in many capacities. The author has earned a BS in economics, an MBA and a doctorate in business administration.
