Katherine Gardiner's shock and humiliation at being deserted by her husband, Charles, not only rings true, but for many women echoes a real personal experience. Some women find the strength to leave... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The story is very entertaining and well written. The characters are full and real. I found myself fully engulfed in this story, wondering what Katherine would do next, how she would handle the next unexpected situation, and enjoying all the characters. Gladys Whitlock has a very enjoyable style. My only complaint is that the story was too short! I am looking forward to more from her!!!
The Renovation

What a wonderful book! Could not put it down until the last page and even then I had to savor the story....Gladys Whitlock has a great, easy writing style, that makes you feel the story .....feeling the pain and the joy of the renovation.I especially enjoyed the development of the main character Katherine, what a modern day understanding of paths that women take. Katherine was strong, and affectionate, and the type of women who did her best in everything, from child rearing to interior decorating. However somehow she was caught unexpectly in the turmoil of a marriage that went sour.I was in that old house while I read the book and understood how it needed to be restored properly. The other characters are woven in the story to perfection..... This book is worth reading....can't wait to read Gladys Whitlock's next book!
