The Height of Napoleonic Adventure Fiction

You may start with War and Peace, and move to the nautical fiction of Kent, Forester, and O'Brian, and finally to the Sharpe Novels by Cornwell. But the best of the adventure novels set in the Napoleonic era are the Roger Brook series of books by Wheatley. Major historical figures pop in and out of this series as the hero travels around the world giving a good historical overview from just prior to the French Revolution to Waterloo.
