Great resource

easy to read and very well-organized text. this book is comprehensive in its coverage of theory as related to all levels of development--affect, cognition, object relations, and much, much more. it includes numerous perspectives from the field. it was especially helpful to my understanding as a graduate student new to psychoanalytic theory and methodology. explanations are not convoluted and are so well done that i have been able to use many of them in educating patients about family of origin issues as related to current functioning. highly recommended reading!

Excellent Book on Psychoanalytic Theory!

This book was well written and clear enough to be presented (in sections) as homework reading for first and second year graduate students of Clinical Psychology for classes on psychodynamic theory and psychodynamic approaches to child therapy to assist in the teaching of psychdynamic theory.

Wonderful Reading

Psychoanalytic Theoris of Development delved in remarkably to the core of psychology today. Mrs. Phyllis Tyson gives examined, thoughtful theories on how humans react to different pressures in our everyday society. It's a wonderfully enlightining book!
