It Haunts Me... ....In A Good Way

I casually picked this book up from the library a number of years ago and was immediately interested in the story. I read it cover to cover and then returned it to the library. I had since forgotten the title and author of the book, but I was constantly reminded that I had greatly enjoyed reading it. More recently as I have further explored my religious (or non-religious as the case may be) faith, I have been more haunted by the memory of this long lost book I once read. Biting the bullet, I spent a lovely bit of time reading over the titles under the keywords "egypt" and "fiction" from the same library. I finally came across the right title and my mind truly cleared. This was the mystery book. Now that my search is over, I have my very own copy of this treasure so that I will not let it fade from me again.

The Prophetess is profound

From the beginning Barbara Wood has created a fast-paced, absorbing read, with some strange perspectives, her heroine a bit of an innocent & some rather nasty, unlikely foes. I found Barbara Wood's idea of a prophetess with that kind of information & pedigree, stimulating; her facts & fiction, fascinating. A super read! ...

I could not put this book down!

I discovered this book a few weeks ago, when someone asked me if my favorite author, Katherine Neville, also writes as Barbara Wood. It turned out not to be the case, but I discovered that Barbara Wood is also an excellent writer; I will definitely read more of her books. I especially liked The Prophetess because of the wonderful characters, the insights on women in ancient times, and the use of the Internet. The plot is very exciting; I could not put the book down!

It is food for the soul

I bought this book about a year ago and never got around to really reading it until today. From the first page to the last I was enthralled! I'm a seventh grade teacher and during my prep time I couldn't stop myself from reading it. The characters were just great. Catherine Alexander and Father Garibaldi are a dynamite duo. You will be transported through time into a timeless quest.

This book was hard to put down, I urge everyone to read it.

The plausability of the story could be questionable before it is read, but the Biblical history was well done. Also the futuristic computer technology worked well. I am now anxious for the paperback so I can afford a copy for every reader I know. This title was recommended to me by a high school boy,and I have discussed it with two additional generations that also enjoyed it. It dealt well with several tough topics(ie. celebate priests and church interventions of the secular world) but it was done tactfully
