Bishop's account of his years as an administrator rings true with my own experience in educational administration. The little victories and the big ones, the daily hassles and the unexpected emergencies are all part and parcel of one of the toughest jobs I've ever loved! I especially enjoyed the daily journal format. I can really relate to the constant stream of events and the feeling that there is no time to catch one's breath--even without the harsh reality of broken ribs. Bishop's love of kids also comes through loud and clear throughout the year-long saga. It's good to know there are still administrators out there who love the kids so much that they are willing to put their own butt on the line. Excellent read!
