A must-read if you have a teen in your life

I bought this book for my nieces and one for myself. We're all reading it and it's helped me be able to empathize with them and has given me a good foundation for understanding their perspective. Girls have so much to offer and the ideas in this book empower them to believe in themselves and contribute to the world in a positive and selfless way. If you know any teen girls, or you are one (!), you must get this book!

Amazing book!

This book is so amazing! It has so many different useful tools. I loved all the personal stories in the book people gave. Worth buying!

My daughter loved it!

I borrowed this book for my daughter after reading the back of it, thinking that it sounded like she may be able to relate. She is 14 with divorced parents and goes to a very socially competitive junior high. She started reading the book and I was amazed that during the same week she announced that she was going to school with no make-up because there is so much more to girls than only their looks, clothes, etc. I'm so proud that she understood what she read and actually applied it. Now we have our own copy and she has even shared it with friends. I've heard them remind each other about topics covered in the book. Teenagers today have huge difficulty with their own self-image, especially when they dont fit into what most media represents the stero-typical teenager to be. They deserve any tool we can give them, especially one that is so well written.

Wow - this book is AMAZING!

This book is a must for teen girls, their parents, teachers... I have never read anything that so clearly connects with the needs of young women today. It covers topics of all levels, ones that we talk about regulary, and most importantly, the ones that are so hard to open up about. I'm buying this book for my friends with teens, I'm buying it for my babysitters, I am even buying my husband his own copy so he will have a little insight into what our girls will be dealing with sooner than we'd care to admit. I think this book is a gift to our world community because it truly offers a way and a place for the girls to see they are their own strength, and can share that with others in a powerful way. You will not regret buying this book.

Inspiring and Encouraging

This book provides a great support group for teen girls. Rather than talking behind each other's backs or tearing each other down, teen girls should inspire each other to be individuals. The Powder Box Secrets emphasizes the point that it's okay to be yourself, and that you don't need to live up to unrealistic expectations (body image, fitting in, etc.) to be happy and healthy.
