Neilex is an aspiring master's student, however, it's looking like his grades will fall short of where they need to be. He receives a lifeline from Ben Harris who is a dapper young professor. Neilex is incredulous when he finds out that the topic of his master's will be to enter a portal that Ben discovered in the basement of one of the buildings on campus and document his experiences on the other side. He reluctantly decides to enter the portal with Ben and his two best friends. The first journey through the portal is incredible and spurs transformational personal growth. However, when one of his friends goes missing during their exploration, Neilex begins to question the cost and whether or not he wants to continue.
