Young Paul is confined to his bedroom for a tear in his new jeans. His younger sister Agatha, a terror, is threatening to surpass him academically and end up in the same class at school. Then Paul discovers a strange machine in the basement storage room next door and turns it on. He wakes up in what looks very much like a medieval world, complete with castles, and nasty villains. Of course, as is normal in such tales, there is always a beautiful young lady, in this case Tilly, who happens to own a pet lizard, and doesn't believe a word he says. She also has an unusual shape-shifting acquaintance who just might be dangerous. The connection to this strange world works both ways, as the children grow older, the problems in each dimension grow more serious, until Paul and Agatha must decide where they really belong, to save each world, and the two families. Oh yes, and Tilly's pet lizard keeps growing. If you enjoy adventure, swordplay, villains and sea-battles, a bit of nonsense, and a dollop or two of romance, this just might be the tale for you.
