This is worth reading, if only for the chapter comparing human milk to cow's milk. There is a lot of information here that I have not seen in more modern books. The development of an infant's digestive system is discussed, along with how various methods of feeding affect it. The effects of sunlight on our bodies are addressed. (You would be amazed!) The introduction of solids and when to refrain from feeding a child are also covered. It was easy for me to draw my own conclusions after reading most parts of the book, as Dr. Thurston frequently explains how a particular food or food component interacts with the body and why it is recommended or not recommended. Although the author recommends against the consumption of sweet milk for adults, it is unclear whether all sweet milk is in question or whether he is assuming all sweet milk to be pasteurized. As with the majority of scientific books, this one has an evolutionary bias.
