"The Olivet Discourse" (Matthew 24 and 25) is the greatest prophetic sermon ever given by the greatest Prophet Who ever lived, the Lord Jesus Christ. He spoke it to His disciples just days before His crucifixion in response to their request to know the signs that would precede His Return to Earth and the establishment of His earthly Kingdom. The sermon is truly like taking a "jet tour" through the Book of Revelation (minus the seven church letters of chapters 2 and 3). There are some well-known parables of Christ in this sermon (i.e., "The Parable of the Budding Fig Tree," "The Parable of the Talents," and "The Parable of the Ten Virgins"), which are often interpreted with respect to the Church. Although there are practical lessons in them for the Church, they speak directly to Israel in the end-times' Tribulation. How long is the Tribulation? What is " the abomination of desolation" that will divide the Tribulation in the two halves called " the beginning of sorrows " and " the Great Tribulation "? Who are the 144,000 witnesses for Christ in the Tribulation and how are they protected from martyrdom? How does Daniel's "Seventy Weeks Prophecy" support a pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church? What exactly is " the sign" of " the Son of man "? Who is judged at "The Sheep and Goat Judgment," and what is the basis for their judgment? What exactly is "The Bema Seat of Christ"? Where do the souls of unsaved people go today? Does the Church ever get the Gospel to the entire world? Will the Antichrist be a Jew or Gentile? These are just a sampling of the many questions about the future answered in this 100-page book. This book, like all the books in "The Caldwell Commentary" series, is both a commentary and a Bible Study workbook. There are ten chapters (aka "lessons"), each complete with Homework/Discussion Questions and provided Answer Sheets at the back of the book.
