The Odyssey of Life is at its core a coming-of-age collection of poetry. It draws inspiration from art, mythology, the sciences, and cultural elements to convey life as a teenager in the modern era. One of the themes brought up time and again in the different sections of the book is the idea of returning home from a journey. Coming of age, and discovering oneself as a teenager, is a journey and the reward at the end is to discover the people that love you and the places where you feel at home. It offers a description of my own personal journey of growth and challenges as I became older, and echoes the hopes of a future that was dreamt of. In whole, the question the work asks and attempts to answer in a number of ways is "where do I belong?", a question repeated by people around the world.
