I just finished reading Allen Howe's first collection of short fiction, "The Odd Boy and His Precious Piano." It's a charming book chronicling the thoughts and experiences of a bright, talented child from age 3 to 12, including some exciting and suspenseful situations. I enjoyed the stories for their humor, for giving voice to some of my own internal experiences, and for several haunting images that I am still processing.
