A lovely picturebook!

The illustrations in this storybook are so beautiful and engaging. Even as an adult I found it to be a pleasing book to look through. The story, as told through pictures, is of a little girl who has gone to the beach with her mom when she discovers a small octopus. After helping the octopus, it takes her on an adventure to discover the exquisite world it lives in. The story has a theme of beauty, discovery, and caring for the world we have been given. Though some books can feel imposing when they introduce such topics like litter and keeping the ocean clean, the gentleness in these illustrations and perspective they offer, give this story an inspiring overtone and desire to explore the world we are given as well as take care of it. A lovely and sweet picture book!
