The Obsidian Path, United We Are
The wind howled a mournful dirge across the desolate plains,
its lament reflecting the growing unease settling over the land.
King Theron, whose reign was built on conquest and fear, had
begun his systematic consolidation of power-a chilling process
that sent shivers down the spines of even the most hardened
soldiers. His victory over the combined forces of humans, elves,
and dwarves in the previous war had not brought peace, but rather
an oppressive silence- a suffocating blanket woven from dread
and subjugation.
From the shadowed peaks of the Dragon's Tooth Mountains,
Romulus and the Queen, their faces etched with grim
determination, observed Theron's actions. Their alliance, forged in
the fires of desperation during the last conflict, remained fragile-
a delicate bond held together by shared hatred for the tyrant and a
shared vision of freedom. Yet, whispers of dissent and
undercurrents of mistrust between the three races threatened to
unravel their hard-won unity.
