To err is human, and it seems that all of the corruption of Earth has traveled through the stars to the foundling astromining colony of Beta Earth. The Directors of the mines have become self-inflated and overly ambitious at the hands of their destitute workers. The underground resistance group, the Raethers, are doing everything in their means to try and stop this exploitation, but resources are scant at best. Family ties and formal allegiances are being put to the ultimate test, but it is painfully clear that no one can trust anyone anymore. The N.I.L.E. Project was not intended to fight a revolution, though it's what's needed at this time. Beta Earth can be financially independent from Earth if only under the proper leadership, but the current powers that be will never allow that. To make matters worse, the health of the colony is now in jeopardy thanks to a solar flare causing flickering issues in the power grid and setting off radiation leaks from the mines. Workers and civilians alike are dying faster than can be calculated with no end in sight, only highlighting an already stretched thin medical system. Earth knows of these issues but is slowed by too much political gridlock to do anything about it. Haas Industries is grappling with placing ethics over finances when the whole of humanity's future rests in their hands. sa Haas has entrusted their daughter Leonie with finding definitive proof one way or the other that Beta Earth can survive this rumored independence, but respect for the na ve sixteen-year-old is lackluster. The disgraced former doctor, X chitl de la Muerta, is back working with the ground forces to resist losing the colony to corruption, but things aren't adding up. There is a leak of information, and if this violence in violet is ever going to be stopped, X chitl needs to figure out who's responsible, but will she live long enough to see this through?
