It's been over four hundred years since Cronus, the emperor of the naturlings, annihilated the colonists on the island of Roanoke. In doing so, he angered his creator, Mother Earth, and her retaliation was to cleanse her body of all that live upon it and start anew. If it were not for the sacrifice given by Sibella, The Seer, and one of Nitesh's group saving a child of the settlers, the world, as we know it, would not exist.

Now, the time grows near for Aryah's unveiling as the chosen one. Her unification with the object holding The Seer's essence is the last hope for the creatures of the earth to continue on without interruption.

Vyan, known as Air, derives from Cronus' group. He and his surviving kin spent the last four hundred years living amongst the humans, a species they detest and blame, in part, for their creator's anger. Their belief of the chosen one differs to that of Demi's in that if they bleed Aryah at the old and closed sanctuary, it will open its doors and put the earth on its proper path.

With two opposite agendas, it becomes a struggle for both parties, for they all know that any disruption in Aryah's task, no matter how small, will bring their mother's wrath upon the planet.
