The Mulligan Project

Dr. Hiram A. Bigland, age 83, is about to volunteer for a new program offered by the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. It involves Near Death Experiences and a new drug that allows the traveler to remain fully engaged during the trip. The program is called the "Mulligan Project." If it works, Dr. Bigland can go back twenty-one years and fix the biggest mistake in his life. He has been properly warned that the program is still in the experimental stage, but at his age, time is running out. As far as he is concerned, it's now or never. At the last minute, someone lets it slip that a new type of time travel might be involved. He's a medical doctor and a surgeon. He knows that time travel is not possible. The time left for him to say yes is running out. It's MIT. What could go wrong?
