Margaret Holden went to Norway because her stepmother wanted to go one last time to her home land. Although Margaret's own mother had been from Norway as her stepmother was, Margaret spoke no Norwegian. (Which was strange to me) Eide died almost as soon as they arrived. This left Margaret at a loss as to what to do. Thor Revolt took Margaret to his home, the home that used to be his aunts in her youth. But Ellen Borge a permanent part of there home hated Margaret on sight, Ellen was the sister of Thor's now dead fiancee Gerda. Ellen wanted Thor to remain loyal to the memory of her sister and she would do anything to get rid of Margaret. But she didn't have to her brother Erik who had a crush on Margaret and he almost killed her with his bid to be independence from Thor. Thor fell in love with Margaret at first sight, it took Margaret a little longer to see Thor as anything but a cold mountain man.
