The Mount Shasta Mission

In Dancing in the Shadows of the Moon, Machaelle wrote that what happened on Mt. Shasta in 1985 was "a book in itself." Well, here's the book! The Mount Shasta Mission is a story that starts slowly... This description may be from another edition of this product.

THEY ARE OTHERS(we did know that)

I was familiar with the author. Machaelle Small Wright keeps you interested. I enjoy her sense of humor. If you know anything about Mt. Shasta; one would probably pick up this book being aware of its contents. I'm so glad to see everything that's in print about other life forms. This and books like this leave one encouraged about the Earth's future.

Mission Possible

Wright's practical, steadfast tackling of a monumental endeavor is enlightening. It clarifies the truth, demands and infinite payoff of real commitment. The details - the daily grind of a massive project coordinating people and things from "all over the place," dealing with surprises, adjusting to changing parameters and maintaining the project integrity - made this revelation possible. Those details are also subtle and blatant clues about teamwork - how to be a quality team member and what to avoid. I work with the processes used in this book for myself, family and home. I found that reviewing each balancing process, project test and individual's test helped me accept that something was actually happening. Wright presents each day simply, which helped me absorb that anyone can contribute to life in a major way; that we're not helpless and all actions have impact. Learning what it took for this Mission helped me understand, accept and know what to do about this huge responsibility. I try to think about the crappy state of the world today, particularly my own government, and consider the bigger evolutionary picture - without detaching from day-to-day life. It's a challenge. I am heartened to know now that the groundwork for a government/military structure that functions in balance with the whole is there. But when dealing with the free will of 6.8 billion people on this planet alone and the slow process of reconstructing an institution, the dynamics of which have been in play for 2000 years, it's going to take time and be a bumpy ride. That the members of this project were willing to share this, and that Wright was willing to take the public risk to tell us, means the world to me. That they followed through on the Mission means even more.
