Blade Runner meets Westworld via Resident Evil in this shocking, gripping debut sci-fi/horror novel infused with Nietzschean philosophy, exploring humanity's darkest desire for transcendence.Seven... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I liked this book, for the most part. There are two storylines we follow of our protagonist Theo. One before and after what the book calls the hollow war. I really found the storyline set in the past of Theo and his Ex-wife who later transitions from FTM, The ideas of self and Transcending beyond our bodies through technology as a way of exploring one's self and identity interesting. The struggle that Theo comes to face with rapidly advancing technology and how it affects him and the world around him before it all comes crashing down very compelling. Whenever the story dives into these themes it had me pretty hooked and I would of liked seeing more of this. The present day story is more dystopian, grim and bleak and the fight to stop The Megarothke did give me that resident evil/bladerunner action, I just found myself more engrossed in the past and the themes of transcendence than the present. Still I quite enjoyed the book and would recommend you read it if it piques your interest.
