The Madcap Heiress is a champagne corker! April, the heroine, is a bubbly sprite who meets her match when she hires Tony, an archaeologist masquerading as a P.I., to look for the Fogbottom, her stolen painting. The action moves from Chicago mansions to a racetrack pool hall to a rundown cottage on Veronica Lake. Colorful secondary characters and vivid descriptions make this book an entertaining, light-hearted read.
