Great book to learn Xcode and Apple Dev Enviroment with

Too bad so many people have no sense of humour. Thank goodness the new bred of code monkeys are not such losers. This is a gret book and ANdy and gang do a wonderful job of oresenting this environment. One of the best books to learn the ins and outs of basic Xcode Dev environment.

the mac XCODE!! 2 book

First off for the people who thought this was a cocoa or obj-c book im sorry to say but you must be the stupiest people on the planet. if you read the title of the book it says XCODE!! which is an ide this book is not about how to program or about any programming lanague at all. If your looking for an intro to Xcode, Want to start programming on the mac using Xcode, or are just curious to see what Xcode has to offer buy this book. If you want to learn about cocoa, obj-c, c++, java, foretrain, cobalt, or martian langauge(some people think because this is Xcode it should talk about programming lanagues) this is not the book for you and if you can't understand that then well im sorry. As for the style of this book if you don't know Andy Inhantko then you shouldn't buy this either this is his style he thinks hes a comedian i don't think hes funny either but i know his style so i knew what i was getting into.

Great book on XCode IDE

As a CodeWarrior and PowerPlant orphan, I have not been looking forward to looking at a new development environment for the Macintosh platform. The current migration by Apple from the PowerPC to Intel has made this a serious consideration for me. This book convinced me that you could make the conversion and develop graphical interfaces with Apple's native tools. Yes, and it can be almost fun. The Cohen brothers can be a little too cute. You some times need to decode their chapter titles and section headings. But they do have an energy that moves the book along.

Breaks new ground with valuable perspectives

Despite some of the silly jokes, this book has proven to be highly useful, often employing a valuable perspective on reral-world development issues that one doesn't often see in the typical coders tome. I applaud these guys for trying something different. They have certainly broken some new ground here in terms of expert-based insight.

Uncommonly Good

It's about time someone wrote a programming book that shows the reader how to get things done with the tool at hand while staying halfway engaging. This book goes far beyond that, believe me. It's loaded with useful info and is a good read as well. The authors show how all of Apple's tools work, both by themselves and with each other, to meet the needs of the broad range of developers. Beginning coders will learn the important development basics they'll need to know, while the advanced folks get a rundown and real-world examples for Xcode features and techniques that will help them to streamline their development processes and refine their products. All the while, the pages are full of entertaining explanations and examples. The book presents useful tips to those engaging in small, medium, and large development projects without favoring any particular approach, avoiding the "methodology wars" that often color works on software development. Great resource.
