We think of the hymn "Joy To The World" as a Christmas song, because Lowell Mason popularized his musical setting during the Christmas season. However, when I examine all the verses penned by Isaac Watts, I don't see anything which specifies that he intended to celebrate Christmas. Instead, I think the text is actually celebrating the Second Coming of Jesus, when Jesus will rule and reign as King forever.
I wrote "The Lord Is Come" with this observation in mind. This original song brings a sound of ominous triumph, celebrating the Second Coming of Jesus, and drawing inspiration from what I believe to be the true meaning of Isaac Watts's famous work, "Joy To The World".This piece is a rock song at heart, but it is accompanied by a full orchestra.
