Enjoyable, Satisfying Read

My kids really enjoyed this well-written book that follows a brother and sister on their ride on the Orphan Train - and I loved it too! The story is heartwarming, giving a tiny glimpse into the uncertainty, fear, and separation that these young children faced. It also touches on the inner struggles of the kindly people who took the children in, and gives hints that not every person had good intentions and not every child found a loving or healthy reception. A simple, sweet story.
