In a tale encompassing many true facts and stories, follow a group of Grimsby Town Football Club Disabled Supporters. They are led by a diminutive lady called Daphne, who was determined to realise a dream after a personal devastating tragedy touched her life. The Grimsby Town Disabled Supporters Club was formed in 1979/80, and was one of the first in the English Football League. Many of the football clubs they visited had little or no facilities to accommodate the disabled. They were often actively discouraged not to travel away by opposing clubs and at one such club they were refused entry. This resulted in the still talked about protest outside a northern ground. It entailed making a three hundred plus mile round trip to make their presence felt at such unfair treatment. As the story unfolds you meet the different characters who have delightful and quirky personalities. They will make you feel for them, but then raise a smile at every touch and turn.
Discover their struggles to be treated as equals in the face of ignorance, adversity and dreadful name calling. Admire them, as their resilience overcomes the many obstacles thrown in their path. Laugh with them and cry with them as they travel the country supporting their beloved Grimsby Town Football Club.
