The Legacy

Four generations of females in a dysfunctional family must spend a winter month together in a log home in the hills of southern Indiana if Ruby, the grandmother, is to inherit the log home and land from her aunt. Will the stress of togetherness defeat the goal or will the closeness bring them together in forgiveness. Granny is difficult. Leslie, 12 year-old daughter of Sharlene, has trust issues lingering due to years of foster home living, until she is adopted. Sharlene also has issues from her childhood. Her divorced mother, Ruby, left her with Granny and Grandpa too often as she traveled to paint. Ruby's childhood trauma was also visited upon her daughter. They struggle with deep issues of anger among the four. All of the four females are forced to work through the family dysfunction. The attorney/next-door neighbor follows through on Aunt Lou's request and becomes a catalyst to the re-construction in the relationships. This is a story of grace, anger, love, and forgiveness.
