Just plain fun to read.

Diane Mott Davidson always keeps the reader involved in her writings, and "The Last Suppers" is no exception. From the time Goldie starts her quest to find her missing fiance until they marry, you're wondering what can happen to this single mother next. I enjoy the recipes that come along as part of the package (and so does my family and friends). Hope everyone has as much fun with this novel as I did.

Elk Park Prep is crime scene

In this book, one of the best of the Goldy Bear Culinary Mysteries, Elk Park Prep becomes the site of a murder when the senior class valedictorian is found dead. Goldy finds herself investigating, and in the process learns about what lengths parents will go to, trying to get their offspring into elite colleges. As usual, the recipes Davidson inclues are wonderfully fun to make, and delicious to eat. Goldy, fueled by copious cups of heavily caffeinated coffee, unravels the mystery. Recommended as a marvelous diversion.

Great Book - But Don't Read It While Your Hungry!

This is an excellent mystery. Diane Mott Davidson has done a great job of grabbing your attention and not letting it go. Goldy, a caterer in Colorado, seems to have the most trouble everytime she ends up catering an event. This time the story revolves around a plot related to the unreasonable attitude that some parents develop about getting their children into college.Everytime you think that you can put the book down for a break something else happens to poor Goldy. This is a great read! Just don't read it while your hungry!

A must read for any family involved in applying to college.

Having spent 10 years as a college admissions director, this book was an absolute hoot for me. While it is on the edge of a farce, it has plenty to say about the frenzy involved in the college application process these days.
