After my father died, and all his clothes, tools, and furniture had been divided among family or recycled to thrift stores, practically all that remained of his possessions was a shoebox he set aside, filled with ordinary things.
Nothing valuable. At least not to anyone else.
A varsity letter. An old skate key. Photographs. Small keepsakes that would mean almost nothing to anyone else.
