The Last Count
On a storm-lashed island off the Atlantic coast, Blackreef Prison runs on routine.
Counts. Meals. Paperwork. Silence.
When an inmate is found dead under impossible circumstances - and no one can remember who he was - the system responds the only way it knows how: it corrects the error.
As names vanish from rosters, memories fracture, and injuries appear without cause, a small group of guards, inmates, and staff begin to realize the truth. Something inside the prison is watching. Counting. Editing reality itself.
Those who notice are labeled unstable. Those who investigate disappear. And the deeper they look, the more the prison turns against them - rewriting records, isolating witnesses, and unleashing sudden, brutal violence that leaves bodies dismissed as accidents or suicides.
The Last Count is a slow-burning descent into institutional horror - where bureaucracy becomes a weapon, the building remembers what people forget, and survival depends on staying visible in a place designed to erase you.
In Blackreef Prison, the count is never wrong.
Until it is.
