The Keeper of the Oath
THE KEEPER OF THE OATH
Some laws are older than kings.
In No-Man's-Land, where the ancestors watch from the stars and the living walk beneath their judgment, blood must never betray blood.
When Dingiswayo kills his brother in a moment of rage, he commits a crime that shakes more than the earth beneath his feet. Though no one witnesses the murder, the land remembers. The disturbance reaches the Council of Stars, where the Great King and the Great Wife rule over the ancient law that binds the living, the dead, and all that lies between.
Summoned to the Path of Reckoning, Dingiswayo must journey through sacred forests, haunted mountains, and forgotten realms where every lie is stripped away. There he will face trials that test truth, sacrifice, and the strength of the human spirit.
But beyond the world of the living, a darker power is awakening. The Shadow King, ruler of a kingdom built from broken oaths and restless souls, gathers strength as ancient bonds unravel. As the boundary between life and death begins to tear, Dingiswayo discovers that his personal guilt may be tied to a far greater threat.
To save the balance of both worlds, he must choose between the power offered by darkness and the painful path of redemption.
In this epic tale inspired by Southern African cosmology and ancestral tradition, Walter Mahlangu weaves a story of guilt, sacrifice, judgment, and the enduring power of truth.
Bound by an oath. Judged by the stars. Hunted by the darkness.
