Wyatt Lonnergan is the best damn recruiter in the business. A skillful observer, his job is to assess people who possess unique skills and talents. On his way to his current assignment, a wrong turn on the highway brings him to the small, isolated town of Little Tree, Montana.

Shortly after Wyatt arrives, a debilitating siren shatters windows and renders everyone unconscious while a strange mist drifts through the streets. Upon waking, he and a handful of others discover that they are the only people remaining in town. Almost a thousand people have simply vanished. All of the cars and phones are dead and they are cut off from the rest of the world.

As the survivors of Little Tree look for answers, events begin to take a frightening, deadly turn, and they soon believe they are trapped in a government conspiracy in which no one must be left alive. Now, they must fight to escape the nightmare the town has become before it's too late. But this is a nightmare in which nothing is as it seems...

...and neither is Wyatt.
