Finding my inner child!

This book is amazing. I saw Ed Gaut on QVC a couple of days ago, and I was really impressed with his energy and sincerity. Usually I just pass by that channel, but Ed really drew me in. So, when they mentioned his book, THE JOY OF FITNESS, I knew I had to go out and get it. I have started reading this book, and already I feel like I have more energy. Ed's right, I only need to start finding ways to enjoy being active. And it doesn't take much. The author talks about finding my inner child, and letting it out to play! I have started working on that, and I do find more time to PLAY! Thanks to the author, I have begun to feel better, physically, as well as mentally and emotionally. Getting out and moving around a bit really helps to bring out my inner child. I highly recommend this book. I can't wait to finish it and read it again!!!

The Gift of Fitness

Ed Gaut's THE JOY OF FITNESS has a major impact in my life. I have been involved in fitness for many years. It seems that year after year I set that new years resolution to get in better shape. And year after year, my resolution lasts for a week or two. But, this year, things have been different. THE JOY OF FITNESS was given to me as a gift. As I began to read, I really did understand every word the author was saying. It really meant something to ME, personally! Step by step, I was learning how to find joy in fitness, how to empower myself and others through fitness! I wanted to get in better shape, and I had a book that was my biggest cheerleader! The last couple lines of the book really hit home, especially thinking that this book, THE JOY OF FITNESS, was a gift to me. The author states, "After all, what good is a gift, if it is not shared? And what better gift than the joy of fitness? This is what I share with you."It truely was a real gift. I will never be the same after reading THE JOY OF FITNESS!

A real joy!

I turned 50 this year. Since I turned 40, I have had a really difficult time getting my body back into shape. I wanted to keep that 20 year old body that I used to have, but age prevented me from that...as well as a few kids along the way. This book REALLY helped me find JOY in exercise. It's those little things that really help. As the author explains, fitness can be FUN! Ed Gaut's, The Joy of Fitness has helped me enjoy my walks along the beach, and enjoy running around with the kids. I have lost over 30 lbs. since reading this book and have truly felt happier and younger. Reading The Joy of Fitness was the best thing I ever did! Ask my husband!

It saved my life

I'm lucky I found this book now and not later. The last few years I've gone through a lot. A controlling boyfriend, three car accidents and severe despression. This just lead to my obesity. When I was younger I was very Athletic. I performed and took 13 hours of dance each week. Then one day I relised I wanted a life. I was in high school at this time meeting new people and new friends. I had no time to take care of myself and my boyfriend slowly made it difficult for me to do dance.I always wanted to be a dancer and to perform byt all the peer pressures from my boyfriend and friends kead me to quit all my classes.I slowly lost my confidence in myself and staqrted putting on weight. So of course I tried every diet in the book sometimes I'd succeed but only for a while when I gained everything back and more. From starving myself to taking pills I tried EVERYTHING. All this lead to me being hospitalized for severe depression. Then I became a guinea pig for the doctors while they tried every pill to make me feel better about myself. That lead to more weightgain. Finally I had got rid of the bad boyfriend and got myself well. Then I took control of life. I knew I needed a life style change. I just didn't know how or where to begin yet I knew I had to do something. A friend recommended The Joy of Fitness and it changed my life - no, it saved my life. You can tell by reading that the author genuinly cares about the results you get. It is difficult to decribe what the book is -- its not a plan, its not a program - my husband says its a phiosophy.I'd have to say its a philosophy that works.
