The Jim Morrison Scrapbook

The Jim Morrison Scrapbook ***** With the abundance of material that has been released and re-released and alternately released from the Jim Morrison estate in the past decade very little of it has been any good. It is mostly things that had already been released on one thing or another deeming it pointless to own, but not The Jim Morrison Scrapbook. Oh-no! This is phenomenal and a must have for Doors-geeks like myself. This shows sides of Morrison rarely or never shown. Chronicling the genius from birth, poet, songwriter, lover, performer, and death. This is a book explaining all of those things about the man, but with actually tangible documents like his will, report cards, letters, his handwritten lyrics, rare seen photos; some of which have never been released to the mass public. The Jim Morrison Scrapbook is the first in a series of "scrapbooks" being released of famous legends. As of right now a Bob Dylan, and John Lennon version is also available. This is essential for all rock fans! A must read!

Outstanding

This is a must have for any Jim Morrison fan. Very creative design. I saw the Doors exhibit at the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland this past September, and some of the things I saw at the exhibit are included in this book.

One fine scrapbook

Bought this excellent tribute and confirmation of Morrisons greatness on a trip to the US in order to watch Steppenwolf's farewell concert at Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, Maryland, on the 6th. of october 2007. After reading a lot of fine books (and a few not-so-fine) on Morrison and the Doors, I decided to cough up with 40 bucks at Brothers Bookshop on 7th. Avenue in New York to see what this was about. It's an excellent tribute to Morrison the artist and musician with many interesting documents, drawings and handbills etc. It's a book you easily can read in a few hours, but spend countless hours dwelling over the enclosed material. After this masterpiece and The Doors own vey fine book (with Ben Fong-Torres), I guess every stone now is turned on the life and times of Jimbo, so let him rest in peace at the Père Lachaise and let us forever relive his legacy listening to the Doors excellent back catalouge.

Perfect!

This is the perfect gift for any Doors fan. Filled with wonderful pictures and hands-on reproductions, you can even read one of his first report cards! Also it comes with a CD of Jim speaking with Salli Stevenson for Circus Magazine and you get to hear Jim read one of his poems. If you've read any of the other books about Jim, you won't find any new information here, but the reproductions and CD are alone make it worth the price.
