The Horse Wrangler

Greed does things to a man. When you have control of 8000 acres and want only a few more--900 to be exact--and someone says you can't have them, it kind of sticks in your throat. But that is what Fred Benbow was up against. To make matters worse Bones Shotten was a gentle man, yet strong enough not to be pushed. And the reason he loved horses--they never formed an opinion about him just because of his color. Bones Shotten was a Negro. And just as an historical note, one out of three cowboys was either Black or Hispanic. The name Wade Everett was a pen name. So, Who wrote this book? Was it Will Cook or Giles Lutz? From reading it, I cannot tell which; and that really doesn't matter, as this book is a very good read. The copyright information dated 1968 only says by Ballantine Books. But I keep my copy along with my Will Cook novels.
