Twisted Love

Loved the book...Parris was a stone cold trip. I can see what drove Nelson to do what he did. The book is filled with everything the flap says it is and more. The Honeymoon is Over was a good quick read and just when I thought I had the story figured out, the author threw in another twist.

Must buy

Excellent read. You won't wanna put this one down. I definetly recommend this book and all others by Keith Lee Johnson

Love is a Mental Disorder

Keith Lee Johnson returns with novel number six. The Honeymoon Is Over has ties to his previous novels. This time, Johnson recounts the tale of a man scorned. Former basketball phenom, Nelson Kennard, should be living his happily ever after. But instead, he is a jaded and bitter man after his beautiful fiancée, Parris Stalls, leaves him for another man. The other man, Shenandoah Armstrong, is a rival from Nelson's past with an unsettled grudge. As the story progresses, Parris discovers that the grass is not always greener on the other side and has a change of heart. It's Nelson that she wants. It's Nelson that she loves. As far as she's concerned, the honeymoon isn't over yet. It hasn't even begun. Johnson's collection (Sugar & Spice, Pretenses, Little Black Girl Lost, Fate's Redemption, Little Black Girl Lost 2) makes an ample case for his being considered one of the most talented authors out today. He writes some of the best contemporary thrillers on the market. In The Honeymoon Is Over, he seems to grasped the best elements of his previous novels and poured them into this one. It is a sure-fire read.

Edge of your Seat - Fun Ride!

The Honeymoon is Over is the story of Nelson Kennard, ambitious owner of Kennard Janitorial Services. He works continuously as he wants his company to have contracts in every major city in the United States, not just San Francisco. Nelson is a competitive yet impulsive man by nature. He was drafted out of college as the #1 NBA draft pick by Philadelphia, yet he never played one professional game due to a career ending injury caused by his own stupidity. Nelson is engaged to and in love with Parris Stalls. Parris wants money and an easy lifestyle now. One night Parris calls and ends their relationship saying she is tired of sitting at home while he works and furthermore she tells him he will never be a success. Nelson is distraught and goes to Parris' house only to find Parris in bed with a former baskeball rival, Shenandoah Armstrong. Thus begins a story of twists, turns, and surprises at every chapter. Let me say that Nelson doesn't just get angry, he gets even...or does he? This is a perfect fictional depiction of a man's reaction to rejection by a lover and the lengths he will go to prove his lover unjustified in leaving him...or will he? This is a fun read and, as with most of Mr Johnson's books, there is thought provoking material as well. For those of you who have read Fate's Redemption, Sterling Wise is back as he is Nelson's best friend. The Honeymoon is Over is a must read...a little mystery, a good story, an ending that will surprise you. As an added plus, after you read the book, the title will make you laugh every time you think about it.

By far this is best book by Keith Lee Johnson!

This story grabs you from page 1 and doesn't let go until the last page. The Honeymoon captures all the emotions involved with relationships, it takes you from the highs and lows that every relationship has. This book also has the suspense added to it that makes you unable to put it down. I found myself saying "one more page" and before I knew it I had read the book in less then 2 days! Nelson is a very believable character with very real and raw emotions. It was nice to see this man go through some of the mental anguish that most people go through when life takes a turn you weren't expecting. The choices he made are thoughts that all of us have at one time or another to some degree. I have read all of this author's books and I love how characters from prior books make their appearance in new books. This allows you to keep up with what has been going on with them. The Honeymoon is definitely his break out book and will make a fan of you! This book sets the foundation for a lasting career in the literary field!
