Not the usual bird guide

This is a browsing book, not a field guide. Birds are not illustrated. Instead there are drawings of places where birds commonly live ("habitats").The best part of this book is the chart of bird sounds. I looked up "squawking" and found great blue heron. Always wondered what was making that noise at the end of the dock. Another list identifies common owls. Does the bird scream "kschhh" or mutter "hoo-hooho-hoo-o"?Because of all the unusual lists, a great addition to a shelf of bird books.
