A must read!

Marley Gibson is an extremely talented writer. Her talent of accurately portraying and capturing the emotions and attitudes of a YA audience is amazing. Having said that, I do know that Marley has in fact painstakingly researched the paranormal through and through, bringing a wealth of knowledge to her GH series. How do I know? I am proud to say that Loreen Woods, a character in her novels was modeled after myself. I am the Psychic Investigator / Trance Medium for the New England Ghost Project. Not only did Marley join our team on numerous investigations, but also she has ventured off and worked tirelessly with numerous paranormal investigative teams. I must admit that I love the Ghost Huntress series. It's not just Marley's keen wit and intelligence that breathes life into her characters, but a true sense of love for the written word, coupled with the creativity and know how to see them through. Marley, I anxiously await your next book in the GH series. Hurry up lady, what's taking you so long! :-)

My 12-year old daughter highly recommends this

My 12-year old daughter loved this second book in the Ghost Huntress series. She likes reading books about paranormal things (ghosts, fairies, mythical creatures) but for some reason she doesn't like the Twilight series. The main character in the book can see, hear, and talk to ghosts similar to Jenifer Love Hewitt's character in the Ghost Whisperer TV show. She says the book is very well written, and is age appropriate -- although there is some mild language. She highly recommends it. She can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. This book was provided compliments of the publisher.

Very Enjoyable

These books are so much fun to read! I love how the author has incorporated actually paranormal tools anf techniques into the story. Also, what's great is that the plot keeps up with the readers anticipation and her characters actually grow as individuals. I highly recommend this book for all readers over 12 and for anyone intersted in the paranormal. plot summary: Kendall (our main character) is all the rage in her little town with her ghost hunting group. When going on a particualarly difficult case she encounters a very disturbed spirit that is set on hurting her and her friends. At the same time her high school enemy, Courtney, is off to try and make Kendall look like a fraud and upstage her. Courtney dabbles with the this disturbed spirit and now Kendall must save everyone.

Two thumbs up from my teen

After reading the first in the series, my daughter was eagerly looking forward to the second book. She recently finished it and gave me her thoughts on the book. It's a great series and has strong potential to be popular like the Twilight or Hunted series. She likes the descriptive writing style of the author, and finds it easy to visualize the story. The fact that the author "sticks to her theories and doesn't change things around" (in my daughter's words) is a big plus. My daughter also finds the characters to be realistic and likable, as "little miss perfect" type characters tend to bore her. She likes how the story deals with real life teen issues, but with fun and well-researched paranormal incidents mixed in. We both agree that teens who like paranormal series will enjoy Ghost Huntress. My daughter is hoping it won't be too long before book 3 is available. She can't wait to see what happens next.

Now that Kendalls' gone through her awakening and saved her father from a ghost, she and her friends have been working all over town. Not everyone is happy about Kendall's newfound abilities. First, her mother still doesn't believe her daughter's a psychic, and she's made Kendall promise to be tested. Kendall and her mom travel to Atlanta to meet with an open-minded doctor. They talk about her awakening and finally run mental and medical tests. Courtney, the queen bee at school, hates all the attention people are giving Kendall. Plus, she hates that Kendall is dating her ex-boyfriend. She comes up with a plan to shift the attention back on to herself: she fakes her own awakening. However, Courtney doesn't understand the rules and she's playing a very dangerous game. When a seance turns into something more, Kendall knows she has to step in and save Courtney if she can. The ghost oppressing Courtney is more vicious than any spirit she's ever encountered. She's not sure if she's strong enough to handle him. The second book in the once trilogy, but now at least five book GHOST HUNTRESS series, picks up a couple of months after the first book, THE AWAKENING, ends. It continues the fun, danger, and romance of ghost hunting. The ending left me with goosebumps and I can't wait to devour the next book in the series. Reviewed by: Jennifer Rummel
