The Great Arizona Adventure introduces us to a bored young man as he asks his father for an adventure exploring Arizona. The book introduces children to the geography, the natural science and the history of Arizona. The narrative follows Gavin as he explores volcanoes, rivers and streams, waterfalls, caves and sinkholes. He learns how the culture of Arizona developed along with the natural world in which he lives. He discovers that people came to this region long before he was born and discovers he can visit historical sites throughout Arizona. He also meets animals, reptiles and birds living in Arizona. The books includes over 100 full color images along with hands-on activities that help hiim develop a better understanding of natural forces. The book is written for children 9-12 years of age but the whole family will discover parts of Arizona they have not visited before.
