This book does little to portray the people who actually flew the missions and concentrates on a few commissioned officers. They’re the ones who needed the medals for their careers and being the ones who wrote the justifications for them, they were awarded disproportionately. Some of their actions portrayed in this book as heroic and for which medals were awarded, in reality were unnecessary and downright stupid and endangered their crew chiefs and gunners and for which a warrant officer would have been severely chastised. Not a very accurate telling of the crews who carried the load.
